This is one of the most beautiful curio floor clocks you will ever see with its many little details of quality. The case is made of solid hardwood and veneers and finished in mahogany. The undulating bonnet crown produces a seemingly flowing design that sets the tone for this masterpiece, while the deeply molded base provides its foundation.Details abound in this sase; from the hand-applied inlays that bring the burl panels to life, or the arabesque gold trim on the beveled glass, to the mirrored back that profides a better view of your curio collectibles. The four polished edge glass shelves keep your precious heirlooms on display and the lockable door keeps them out of harms way. Hermle also included easily removable doors that provide access to the accessories and for cleaning. The picturesque dial displays colorful scenes of Germany around the chapter ring with its applied brass Roman numerals. A fleur-de-lis inspired arch is accompanied by hand-painted and carved dancing figurines that pirouette during the chime sequences. Intricately designed bands surround the etched polished weight shells and the pendulum has a faux mercury bob with a large harp that regulates the clock. The brass 8-day cable driven movement offers the three most reknown clock melodies, Westminster, Whittington and St. Michael. The movement features a power reserve, Graham anchor, second hand and automatic night shutoff.
